T-cell lymphoma is a rare form of cancerous lymphoma affecting T-cells. [1] Lymphoma arises mainly from the uncontrolled proliferation of lymphocytes, such as T-cells, and can become cancerous. [2] T-cell lymphoma is categorized under Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and represents less than 15% of all Non-Hodgkin's diseases in the category. [3]
The authors concluded that trials using a patient mix weighted toward good prognosis will not find such a difference. In 1993, a retrospective analysis was performed on 2031 patients with aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, of all ages, treated with a doxorubicin-based chemotherapy regimen such as CHOP between 1982 and 1987. The five-year survival rate in the United States for all Hodgkin lymphoma subtypes is 85%, [4] while that for non-Hodgkin lymphomas is 69%. [15] Worldwide, lymphomas developed in 566,000 people in 2012 and caused 305,000 deaths. [ 16 ]
Although intraocular lymphoma is rare, the number of cases per year is rising, affecting mainly people in their seventies [17] [18] and immunocompromised patients. [19] [20] A recent study has shown that ocular lymphoma is more prevalent in women than men. [21] The survival rate is approximately 60% after 5 years. [citation needed]
The five-year survival rate in the United States is 88.4%. [14] FL is the most prevalent form of indolent lymphoma, accounting for 70% of indolent cases and 20–30% of all non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases, with a yearly incidence of 1.6 to 3.1 per 100,000.
