UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards. [1] [2] [3] While being sonically distinct from Chicago drill music, [4] it embraces its aesthetic and melds it with road rap, a British style of gangsta rap that became popular in the years prior to the existence of drill.
To promote the album the band was booked to tour the UK with the band Pitchshifter, however on the eve of the tour, the tour bus was involved in a serious road crash during which the tour bus overturned injuring several members of the band. On 7 September 1991, Drill supported Nine Inch Nails on their second English gig at Newcastle Riverside. [1]
