Cyan announced plans to release a remake of Riven on the game's 25th anniversary on October 31, 2022. Like the 3D remake of Myst, this version of Riven features fully explorable 3D environments. Cyan had attempted to use the original Riven's models but found they were too low-resolution, instead recreating the world using Unreal Engine 5.
