Paul Brereton was born 27 August 1957 in North Sydney, New South Wales.His father, Russell Brereton (1911–1974), saw military service during the Second World War in the Middle East, New Guinea and Borneo and was later a permanent Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. [2]
