SH 110: Grand Saline is located at the northern end of the highway. 110 is the main and preferred route from the Van/Grand Saline area into Tyler, Texas. (North of the intersection of 110 and US 80, the highway bears the name Chris Tomlin Boulevard, in honor of the Contemporary Christian musician, who is a Grand Saline native.)
Of February 10, 1937, the section from Van to Kaufman was renumbered as SH 243, and SH 110 rerouted northwest to Grand Saline, completing its current routing. [8] An extension northward to Alba was added on May 21, 1940, but the section from Grand Saline to Alba was redesignated as FM 17 on March 26, 1942.
The original proposal was for it to run from the Texas/Oklahoma border north of Paris to Houston. On February 5, 1918, it was extended south to Freeport. [3] On August 21, 1923, SH 19 was pared back significantly, eliminating the section north of Grand Saline. On August 4, 1932, it had extended north to Alba. [4]
