During the Map Maker APAC Regional Conference 2012 at Hyderabad, India in 2012, where Mapping Bangladesh community attended as well - the Google Map Maker Team expressed their surprise and gratitude for being able to stay organized and able to complete the project. The community has also marked all Railway stations across the country.

Relief shading is an embedded PNG raster, derived from the SRTM data using Perl. Bathymetry from NGDC ETOPO2. The data was processed in Perl and projected using Geo::Proj4.
Following the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, the country had four divisions: Chittagong Division, Dacca Division, Khulna Division, and Rajshahi Division. In 1982, the English spelling of the Dacca Division (along with the name of the capital city) was changed into Dhaka Division to more closely match the Bengali pronunciation.
