Steven Michael Dettelbach (born November 29, 1965) is an American lawyer who has served as the eighth director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives since 2022. He was the United States attorney for the Northern District of Ohio for over six years during the presidency of Barack Obama , resigning in 2016.
