The Chartiers-Houston School District covers the Borough of Houston and Chartiers Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The district operates Chartiers-Houston Jr/Sr High School (7th-12th) and Allison Park Elementary School (K-6th). Named for Peter Chartier (1690—1759) who established a trading post in the area in 1743.

The Chartiers-Houston School District services the educational needs of the Township in addition to the residents of Houston Borough. Chartiers Township can be categorized as primarily a residential and agricultural community. Many seek rural parcels in the Township for the keeping of private horses, and farming is still a viable enterprise.
After the Chartiers Valley Railroad was completed through that section in 1871, David C. Houston, a son of Daniel Houston, saw the possibilities of a town at that point and laid out the present plan of Houstonville. The first house in the new town was completed in the summer of 1871 by A. T. Haft and the second by J. C. Johnson.
This was the first time in history that Montgomery won a district championship in Baseball. They were eliminated in the first round of states by the eventual state champion, Minersville. In 2010, the Montgomery Lady Raiders softball team took second place in the PIAA State playoffs, losing to champion Chartiers-Houston.
