Painted Ruins is the fifth studio album by American rock band Grizzly Bear, released on August 18, 2017, by RCA Records. Along with the announcement of the album, the band announced a fall European and North American tour.
Grizzly Bear was an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2002. For most of its tenure, the band has consisted of Edward Droste (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Daniel Rossen (vocals, guitar, banjo, keyboards), Chris Taylor (bass, backing vocals, woodwinds, production), and Christopher Bear (drums, percussion, backing vocals).
Rossen would embark on a belated tour for the EP in 2014 due to commitments to Grizzly Bear's fourth album, Shields, released the same year as the EP. Rossen released the 12" single Deerslayer for Record Store Day 2018 , though the song has been in circulation since his 2014 solo tour, [ 7 ] and was quietly released in 2017 via his website.
