The Chevrolet Bel Air is a full-size car produced by Chevrolet for the 1950–1981 model years.Initially, only the two-door hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952.
The 1957 Chevrolet is a car that was introduced by Chevrolet in September 1956 for the 1957 model year. It was available in three series models: the upscale Bel Air, the mid-range Two-Ten, and the economy/fleet model One-Fifty. A two-door station wagon, the Nomad, was produced as a Bel Air model.
The Bel Air was an instant hit with consumers, with a minimally equipped One-Fifty models starting under $1600 and featuring a six cylinder engine. [9] The introduction of the new optional 162 horsepower Chevrolet 265 cid V8, coupled with the Powerglide automatic transmission quickly earned the model the nickname "The Hot One".
It was available in three models: the 150, 210, and Bel Air. The 1955 Chevrolet was the first successful Chevrolet with an optional V8 engine. Chevrolet had produced an earlier car with a V8 in 1918 (Chevrolet Series D), which used a 36-horsepower overhead valve 288-cubic-inch V8, but it remained in production for only a year. [4]
Among the cars built at Norwood were the Chevrolet Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala, Nova, Caprice, Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, and the Buick Apollo. The plant grew to cover an area of approximately 50 acres (200,000 m 2 ) and had 3,000,000 square feet (279,000 m 2 ) of space under roof.
Chevrolet Bel Air (new trim) The Chevrolet Deluxe is a trim line of Chevrolet automobiles that was marketed from 1941 to 1952, and was the volume sales leader for the market during the 1940s. The line included at first a 4-door sedan , but grew to include a fastback 2-door "aerosedan" and other body styles.
