The Pump Room was a restaurant established on October 1, 1938 by Ernie Byfield.It closed in 2017, then reopened under different names. [1] It is located in the Ambassador Chicago hotel, formerly known as the Ambassador East, on the northeast corner of State Parkway and Goethe Street in Chicago's Gold Coast area.
The hotel was sold in 2017 to Shapack Partners and Gaw Capital for $61.5 million, which was considered an underwhelming sale price for the booming hotel market Chicago was experiencing at the time. Elston Avenue is a street in the city of Chicago, serving as an alternate route along the east side of the Kennedy Expressway (Interstates 90 and 94). It begins at Milwaukee Avenue, just north of Chicago Avenue. It travels northwest for almost 10 miles (16 km) until ending at Milwaukee Avenue again, just south of Devon Avenue.
Another Superdawg restaurant opened on Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling, Illinois in 2010. [3] [8] Superdawg has succeeded in asking a number of restaurants to cease using similar names, and successfully sued a New York City hot dog eatery named Superdog when it refused to comply. In 2016, following further leasing disputes, the owners of the Double Door filed a proposal with the city of Chicago to allow them to begin restoring the historic Logan Square State and Savings Bank building located at 2551 N. Milwaukee Ave., about a mile from its original location. [7] The Double Door closed due to eviction in 2017. [2]

Baton Show Lounge was founded in 1969 in River North. [1] [2] [3] The first venue's address was 436 N. Clark St. [4] The name was inspired by Flint's time in the Navy as a drum major. [1] He would attract crowds by baton twirling and roller skating on the street. [1] The early days of the lounge were marked by police raids. [5]
