Seal Rock (or Seal Rocks) is a group of small rock formation islands in the Lands End area of the Outer Richmond District in western San Francisco, California. They are located just offshore in the Pacific Ocean , at the north end of the Ocean Beach , near the Cliff House and Sutro Baths ruins.
The rocks are the largest harbor seal rookery in the northern San Francisco Bay and the second largest in the Bay Area itself. [4] There are also sometimes sea lions on the rocks. [ 5 ] The rock's Harbor Seals also frequent Mowry Slough , Brooks Island , Yerba Buena Island , and Mare Island .

Painted Rock is a smooth horseshoe-shaped marine sandstone rock formation with pictograph rock art about 250 feet across and 45 feet tall near Soda Lake within the Carrizo Plain National Monument [1] on the southwest side of the northern Carrizo Plain, west of Bakersfield and about 70 miles (110 km) east of San Luis Obispo and 45 miles (72 km) west of Taft, in California, United States.
