The Museum of Contemporary Art is an art museum in Bangkok, Thailand.It is privately owned by business executive Boonchai Bencharongkul, and was opened in 2012.The museum, one of the largest contemporary art museums in Asia, features an extensive collection of works by many famous Thai artists, including Thawan Duchanee, Hem Vejakorn, Chalermchai Kositpipat and Prateep Kochabua.

The Cathedral (Art Museum Building; Thai: มหาวิหาร), was designed by Thawan Duchanee and built by Baan Dam's engineers in 1999 - 2009. It took 7 years to build. The inspiration of the cathedral is the combination of wood cultures such as form, shape, philosophy etc. with contemporary creativity, Buddhist art and modern architecture.
In 1995, Bangkok Governor Dr. Bhichit Rattakul began a project called "the art centre". After agreement that The Bangkok Contemporary Art Centre should be near Pathumwan junction, the project was stopped in 2001 when Samak Sundaravej became the new governor. He wanted a commercial retail space and private investors.
