WBSA is the only radio station licensed to Boaz by the Federal Communications Commission. WBSA plays southern gospel and bluegrass gospel music. It also has on-air devotions. On-air personalities include Dale Johnson, Chris Watkins, James Cornelius and Beecher Hyde. WBSA carries the weekly football games of the Boaz High School Pirates.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) is the governing body of athletic programs for junior and senior high schools in the U.S. state of Alabama.It conducts state championship competitions in all AHSAA-sanctioned sports.
It operates five schools: Corley Elementary School, Boaz Elementary School, Boaz Intermediate School, Boaz Middle School, and Boaz High School. As of the 2017–2018 school year, the district had a student population of 2279 and employed 18 administrators, 154 faculty members and 93 non-faculty staff members. [2]
