Kent is located at the crossroads of Interstate 10, Interstate 20, Texas State Highway 118, and Farm to Market Road 2424 on the Missouri Pacific Railroad, 36 mi (58 km) east of Van Horn, 152 mi (245 km) east of El Paso, and 81 mi (130 km) west of Fort Stockton in southeastern Culberson County.
Road 2424 has the town's only store, Kent Mercantile, which includes a gas station. The mercantile store was closed in January 2011. The post office is still open, serving the nearby ranch community. There is only one family left in Kent. [41] RM 2424 was assigned on August 29, 1958, from U.S. Highway 80 (now Interstate 10) to Iron Mountain Road.
