Indian Motorcycle (or Indian) is an American brand of motorcycles owned and produced by American automotive manufacturer Polaris Inc. [1] [2]. Originally produced from 1901 to 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States, Hendee Manufacturing Company initially produced the motorcycles, but the name was changed to the Indian Motocycle Company in 1923.
In 2011, Polaris Industries bought the Indian Motorcycle Company. For the 2015 model year, under Polaris's ownership, Indian introduced a new Scout model. The 2015 Scout is a cruiser with a 1,133 cc (69.1 cu in) liquid-cooled, V-twin engine and a frame formed by multiple aluminum alloy castings bolted to each other and to the engine. [35]
The Original 200NS was launched in 2012, featuring a carburetted 200cc Liquid Cooled Single cylinder engine. The Motorcycle was briefly discontinued in 2015 following lackluster sales, but was revived in 2017 featuring the new "NS200" Moniker. In 2020, the motorcycle got an update in form of Fuel Injections to comply with stringent BS6 Norms.
