KELO-TV (channel 11) is a television station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States, affiliated with CBS, MyNetworkTV, and The CW Plus.The station is owned by Nexstar Media Group, and maintains studios on Phillips Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls; its transmitter is located near Rowena, South Dakota.
In 1974, Doug Lund started his career at KELO-TV as a commercial announcer. In 1975, he joined the Keloland news team; and, he and Steve Hemmingsen co-anchored of the 10pm newscast. In 1977, Lund and Hemmingsen co-anchored the 6pm newscast for the next twenty-five years.
KCLO-TV (channel 15) is a television station in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States, affiliated with CBS and The CW Plus.Owned by Nexstar Media Group, the station maintains a news bureau and advertising sales office on Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City, and its transmitter is located on Skyline Drive near downtown.
Steve Hemmingsen served as co-anchor of "Keloland News" at television station, KELO-TV, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He most recently served as co-anchor with Angela Kennecke. In May 2000, he entered semi-retirement. Hemmingsen currently writes the "Weighing In" column at the Keloland.com website.
KELO-FM (101.9 MHz) is a radio station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, airing an adult contemporary music format. At 92.5 FM, KELO-FM was one of the first FM radio stations in South Dakota.
Originally issued a construction permit under the call sign KGSS in 1936, [3] KELO signed on September 5, 1937, on 1200 kHz, under the ownership of the Sioux Falls Broadcasting Association, also the owner of KSOO.
