Moraine State Park is a Pennsylvania state park on 16,725 acres (6,768 ha) in Brady, Clay, Franklin, Muddy Creek, and Worth townships in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The park includes a man-made lake, Lake Arthur, formed by impounding Muddy Creek , which is 3,225 acres (1,305 ha) and is used for recreational purposes.
The Glacier Ridge Trail begins on the west side of Moraine State Park, at the corner of West Side Road and Burnside Road.It passes under a road bridge that carries US Route 422 over an arm of Lake Arthur, then proceeds through state park grounds around the northwestern corner of the lake. [3]
Portersville has several events each year in the immediate and surrounding areas. The Portersville Steam Show occurs three times a year (May, August, and October). This event displays older steam engines and farm machinery to the public. The Moraine/Lake Arthur Regatta (in August each year) has water related activities for the entire family.
