In desktop publishing applications, the footer identifies the space at the bottom of a page displayed on a computer or other device. Some software automatically inserts certain information in the footer, including the page number and the date and time of creation or editing the document, data which can be removed or changed.

Edit a section of an article, not the entire article (editing of sections is discussed in the 'Editing article sections' section). Click the "history" tab to see if an article is getting a lot of edits; if so, do a series of small (quick) edits rather than trying to do a lot of changes within a single edit.

Enter the redirect name, shortcut name, or pseudo-pagename. Navigate to a section of a page by appending the "#" character, as in Page name#section heading.
