James M. Hotchkiss (May 27, 1812 - May 7, 1877) was a Vermont farmer, businessman, and politician. He served in the Vermont House of Representatives and Vermont Senate , and was chosen to serve as the Senate's President pro tem .
Platt completed preparatory studies and graduated from the medical department of the University of Vermont at Burlington in 1859 when he was 23. On February 23, 1859 he married Sarah C. Foster in Rutland, Vermont. [4] He later married the suffragist and widow Sarah Sophia Chase Decker (1856–1912), who survived him.
Edward Alexander Holton (August 28, 1835 – January 29, 1906) was a United States soldier who was awarded his nation's highest honor for valor, the U.S. Medal of Honor, for his gallantry while fighting with the 6th Vermont Infantry during the American Civil War.

Armstrong was born in Bennington, Vermont on April 19, 1903, [1] [2] the son of Marcus P. Armstrong (1864-1928) and Alice J. Cordes (1868-1953). [2] He graduated from Bennington High School in 1922, and attended the University of Vermont from 1922 to 1923. [1]
