How the West Was Won is an American Western television series that starred James Arness, Eva Marie Saint, Fionnula Flanagan, Bruce Boxleitner, and Richard Kiley.Loosely based on the 1962 Cinerama film of the same name, it began with a two-hour television film, The Macahans, in 1976, followed by a mini-series in 1977, and a regular series in 1978 and 1979.
In general, there is very little information available on the subject, and I find it unlikely that there will be enough information to make two separate articles on the film/series. Eight surviving episodes from Cavalcade have been released on DVD as of 2011. The two from The Ed Sullivan Show remain unreleased but can be found on the Internet Archive. The Archive also contains an uncut (including commercials) copy of the February 1967 Honeymooners sketch "Life Upon the Wicked Stage", which has never been released on DVD.
