Using arbitrary numbers, if 40% of kids from Ivy school X land gigs at Joe Blow bank, and 10% of kids from Kelley do, but you have to pay $50k per year at X, and Kelley is free, you might want to take Kelley and take the chance that you'll be in that top 10%, still land at Joe Blow bank, and do it all for free.
Kelley is not one of the most prestigious UG bschools and is below UNC, UT, USC, and ND. Kelley definitely outperforms given IU's overall lack of prestige but should not be chosen over the other top UG bschools or more prestigious universities without a business major. Reply. Quote.
5y. Kelley is a competitive program but IU when compared to other highly regarded public universities with good business schools fall short. This is not just some kind of bias but admissions stats actually back it up: Indiana: Percent Admitted: 77%, Yield: 24%. Michigan: Percent Admitted: 24%, Yield: 43%.
Kelley, is second in terms of career outcomes (Wisconsin is 42nd); Kelley is third in the academic experience of its graduates (Wisconsin is 34th). And Kelley is 21st in admission standards (Wisconsin is 38th). Plus, the big difference is Kelley is a direct admit program and Wisconsin is not.

- Kelley has I-CORE, which is one semester with a set of 5 classes that integrate with each other and culminate in the capstone case competition with the entire class. I really enjoyed this aspect of the curriculum. - IU basketball - The Kelley undergrad career services office is on point.

UIUC (Gies College of Business) PROS – High ranked accounting program (even better than Wharton), pretty much the same cost as IU ($35k per annum, no scholarship), decent overall reputation of the university. CONS - Much more renowned for engineering programs than business, pretty slim chances of cracking IB at NYC. 4. Northeastern.
