This template is very similar to {{unbulleted list}}, except that it automatically indents parts of long items that are wrapped onto a new line. This makes it easier to tell apart multiple such items when width is limited—e.g. in an {{}}—and eliminates the need for a bulleted list.
However, the spaces are not all the same size, but rather a mixture of en-size & em-size spaces that have been tested to work on a wide range of browsers. To skip by n equal-size spaces, instead use {{ in5 | n }} , which puts all as the standard-size non-breaking space and does not force a newline.
indent - this parameter indents the list, for horizontal and horizontal ordered lists only. The value must be a number, e.g. 2. The indent is calculated in em, and is 1.6 times the value specified. If no indent is specified, the default is zero.
|left= a.k.a. |em= the value (e.g. 0.1 or 7) in em units by which to indent the material from the left; defaults to 3 |right= the value, also in em, by which to indent the material from the right; defaults to 0 (use 7 to match the default left indentation) |style= arbitrary CSS declarations, e.g. font-size: 95%;. In a numbered list in a large font, some browsers do not show more than two digits (2 spaces width) of indentation, unless extra indentation is applied (if there are multiple columns: for each column). This is fixed by increasing the default indentation of 3.2em by 2em more, and it can be done in multiple ways:

An accessible approach to indentation is the template {{block indent}} for multi-line content; it uses CSS to indent the material. For single lines, a variety of templates exist, including {{ in5 }} (a universal template, with the same name on all Wikimedia sites); these indent with various whitespace characters.
Use a bulleted (unordered) list by default, especially for long lists. Use a numbered (ordered) list only if there is a need to refer to items by number, the sequence of items is important, or the numbering exists in the real world (e.g., tracks on an album).
