Albion is a city in Calhoun County in the south central region of the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 7,700 at the 2020 census . Albion is part of the Battle Creek Metropolitan Statistical Area .
The current Albion station house was built in 1882 by the Michigan Central Railroad, which originally ran through town in 1844.The station also had a freight house. Ten years earlier Albion had competition when the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway arrived and added its own station, which operated until the 1920s.

M-199 is a state trunkline highway near Albion in the US state of Michigan. The western terminus of the 4.030-mile-long (6.486 km) road is in Sheridan Township at exit 119 off Interstate 94 (I-94). The eastern terminus is a junction with Business Loop I-94 (BL I-94) downtown Albion.

The railroad access brought new settlers who farmed the surrounding area, and mills and elevators became an important part of Albion's economy. Fourdries and other manufacturing interests were also established in the mid-1800s. Through the rest of the century, Albion grew steadily, and the commercial district kept pace.
