Jiangsu University (Chinese: 江苏大学; pinyin: Jiāngsū Dàxué) is a provincial public university in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Jiangsu Provincial Government, and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs .
As of 2022, Jiangsu hosts 168 institutions of higher education, ranking first of all Chinese provinces. [1] There are two Project 985 , 11 Project 211 , and 16 Double First Class universities in the province.

In 1985, Huaihai University (Being Organizing) (淮海大学（筹）) was established as an element of the Provincial Seventh Five-year plan.The organizing was hosted by Jiangsu Provincial Government, Nanjing University, Southeast University, Soochow University and Nanjing Normal University. totally twelve universities and colleges offered aid.
