Armand Vallin Feigenbaum (April 6, 1920 [1] – November 13, 2014) was an American quality control expert and businessman. [2] He devised the concept of Total Quality Control (TQM), now known as " total quality management ".
It was first described by Armand V. Feigenbaum in a 1956 Harvard Business Review article. [ 2 ] Prior to its introduction, the general perception was that higher quality requires higher costs, either by buying better materials or machines or by hiring more labor. [ 3 ]

Feigenbaum was an expert in programming languages and heuristics, and helped Lederberg design a system that replicated the way Djerassi solved structure elucidation problems.
