"Ritmu" [a] (Maltese pronunciation:; transl. "Rhythm") is a song by Maltese singer Aidan released on 2 March 2022. The song placed second in the national competition to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and reached number one on Malta's singles charts.
Malta first participated at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971, although its history with the contest dates farther back. The Maltese Broadcasting Authority (MBA) gained associate European Broadcasting Union (EBU) membership on 1 January 1964 and it wrote a letter to the EBU enquiring about if it could participate as an associate member, but received no response. On 14 March 2022, a new song was released, titled "I Am What I Am", to replace "Out of Sight" as Muscat's Eurovision entry. [ 15 ] [ 16 ] I Am What I Am" was performed in the second semi-final of the contest on 12 May 2022, and failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 16th place as Malta's eighth non-qualification in the contest.

On 21 August 2023, PBS published the regulations of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024, announcing that artists and composers would be able to submit their entries between 28 August and 20 September 2023. Songwriters from any nationality were able to submit songs as long as the artist was Maltese or possessed Maltese citizenship.
