The college is a free-standing institution responsible for its own affairs. The original site in Lewisham is called Christ the King: Emmanuel. The college is run by its Principal and senior staff, whose appointment is one of the tasks of the governing body. The Church provides guidelines to ensure that the institution retains its Catholic ethos.
The college also had 200 14- to 16-year-old students enrolled. 62% of the students were female and 38% were male. [2] Southwark College merged with Lewisham College in 2012, having previously existed as separate institutions. [3] Between 2013 and 2014 the college was branded as LeSoCo, before this was dropped.
