Shimano Sahara 3000FE anti-reverse not working. My sahara was starting to lock up so I took it apart to clean it. I accidentally took apart the clutch assembly. Followed the youtube video on how to put it back together. After assembling everything, the reel spins smooth again except the anti reverse. it sticks a little, but if you apply ...

  5. Shimano Sahara-Bail design flaw? | 2 Cool Fishing Forum

    www.2coolfishing.com/threads/shimano-sahara-bail-design-flaw.342745

I have a Shimano Sahara. When the bail flips over to start a retrieve sometimes the line will hang up at the point where the wire bail connects to the head of the bail that connects to the reel. If you don't manually flip the line up to the roller the retrieve will twist the line and before long you start casting bird nests.

  6. best baitcaster recommendation?? shimano, lews or others

This reel has a strong aluminum frame and spool and can handle heavy fish. In summary, for a Shimano baitcaster, the SLX DC 151HG or the Tranx 201 HG would be great options. If you're open to other brands, the Lew's Super Duty Wide Speed Spool SDAW1SH would be a great option to consider as well. Reply Like.

I have the same issue on 2 of my Shimano Sahara spinning reels. They are failing to return line the end of the bail properly. About 3 years ago, I purchased a another Shimano spinning reel and after over a year the main gear started getting noisey. All 3 reels are not in warranty and going to junk pile.

  10. Penn battle 4000 or shimano spheros 4000? | 2 Cool Fishing Forum

For 100 bucks what's a good spinning rod for the battle. Battle 4000 is very smooth, use it for surf, pier and bay. For under $100 it's a great buy. Like I said earlier, I love the Penn Fierce, I have the 4000 series. Paired it up with a Castaway Go2 Rod I got last year on discount from Academy. Been a heck of a setup.

When it comes to the in shore reels Shimano is really unbeatable. For reels under the 100 range go with the Sahara 2500. It's light and can handle anything that you can catch in the bay. If you look at most of the red tournament guys all they fish are Shimano and Diawa reels. Very few if any fish Penn reels. The Sahara runs in the 70 dollar range.
