My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, simply known as Equestria Girls, is a product line of fashion dolls and a media franchise launched in 2013 by the American toy company Hasbro as a spin-off of the 2010 relaunch of the My Little Pony line of pony toys and its Friendship Is Magic television series.
The series is based on Hasbro's My Little Pony line of toys and animated works and is often referred by collectors to be the fourth generation, or "G4", of the My Little Pony franchise. Season 4 of the series premiered on November 23, 2013 on the Hub Network, an American pay television channel partly owned by Hasbro, and concluded on May 10, 2014.

"The Best Night Ever" was directed by Jayson Thiessen (supervising) and James Wootton, and written by Amy Keating Rogers.The initial draft of the episode was thirty-nine pages long, six more than a typical My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic script; [2] it included more extensive version of the "Piggy Dance", which was removed and instead appears in season two episode "Baby Cakes".
A two-minute animatic was shown at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con. [1] In both episodes, each featured character was designed by Kora Kosicka and Fernanda Ribeiro. [2] The season finale was the final time Jayson Thiessen was involved with the show as his attention completely shifted to directing the 2017 theatrical movie based on the series. [3]
