PenTile OLED 1440 × 1600 per eye @ 72 Hz, fresnel, 2,3 mil. Pixel vs. 2064 × 2208 ; Display type, LCD ; Refresh rate, 120Hz, pancake, 4,56 mil. Pixel -> nearly double the pixels. Quest 3 has a better refresh rate, yet I did not find any problem with the Quest 1 refresh rate -> good for you but it's a big step from 72 to 120 Hz.
150€ is to much for a quest 1. Quest 1 max 100€. Quest 2 max 200€. Quest 2 new 350€. Quest 3 new 570€. The Q1 is first, not worth that price listed and second, it's a horrible buy right now if you're going to only play stand alone games since it either just lost support or will be losing support in the very near future.
The quest 1 is far superior image optics and display. They definitely don't have the same lenses. The sharpness at the edges is far worse for me in Q2 vs. Q1, definitely a much smaller sweet spot. (And yes, I was very careful in selecting IPDs and went back and forth with all setting and various head positions).
If you can, get a Quest 2. worth the price. If you get the Quest 1 anyways, be aware you're getting the VR equivalent of a PS3 vs a 4 and 5. That’s a good way to put it. I use it to run sideloaded android apps like twitch, paltalk, youtube on a massive stretched out screen because colours and black levels are so good.
Controllers: The controllers on the Quest 1 (Q1) one are more ‘grip’ friendly and less cumbersome than the Quest 2 (Q2). For games like Echo Arena I find the use of a special grip/strap to hold your hand to the controllers are necessary with the Q2 as opposed to the Q1. The tracking on the Q2 controllers seems much faster and less prone to ...
You can change it in debug tool. There are 3 options, default, low & high. But default & high are the same. Low gives sharper image. To apply the change, input value -> press enter -> click Service -> select Restart Oculus Service. <Encode Resolution Width>. Encode resolution width is output resolution.
No, it’s almost certainly never going to happen. Technically carmack said that the display is capable of 90hz, but oculus certificate it for only 72. So they have to rerun this process for 90hz, and that is never gonna happen. Maybe with root access in the future.
With a usb c to usb a adapter, you can connect a wired controller, or you can connect a mouse and keyboard, allthough i am not sure, if first time setup requires you to pair the official controllers. In terms of dedicated third party controllers for the quest, pretty sure, there should be none. Thanks all! I ended up scoring a great deal on a ...
To activate Air Link on your Quest 1, you need to run Air Link Connector. First, make sure your Quest 1 is on the 5Ghz WiFi network of the same router connected to your desktop. Then run Air Link Connector: click on apps, and select “Unknown Sources” on the drop down on the right side.
A place to discuss the Meta/Oculus Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro. Quest 1 support being further cut by Meta. Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. That first bullet point is weird. Like yeah I really do hope all that money I spent on games can still be used.
