El Clásico (Spanish pronunciation: [el ˈklasiko]; Catalan: El Clàssic, pronounced [əl ˈklasik]; "The Classic"), is the name given to the soccer matches between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona (named after the cities they are based in; both cities are separated by 621 km), the two most successful and most supported basketball teams in Spain.
Castilla was founded as Real Madrid's reserve team in 1972, after the folding of A.D. Plus Ultra (Real Madrid's previous reserve team). Both teams would meet for the first time during the third round of the 1974–75 Copa del Generalísimo and then again during the 1982–83 Segunda División season.
The first Barcelona and CSKA wins came during the 2006 NBA Europe Live Tour, where Barcelona beat the Philadelphia 76ers 104–99, and the Moscow team won by 19 over the Los Angeles Clippers (94–75), being the widest victory so far of any international team.
