The first state title for CPL basketball came in 1958 with Marshall, four years after Du Sable earned the league's first ever state championship berth. Beginning in 2010 Simeon won the state championship four times in a row. [1] CPL schools have enjoyed the top of the podium 22 times, 14 of those on the boys side.
