Based on the bodywork and V8 engine of the Ford Model 48, Ford developed the Ford Model V8-51 truck. While the chassis was a larger and heavier new truck design that had no components in common with the passenger car, the front end and V8 engine were taken from the passenger car with almost no modifications.
Production ended with the 1932 models. The plant was converted to a Ford Regional Parts Depot (1 of 3 designated “slow-moving parts branches") and remained so until 1967, when the plant closed, and was then sold in 1968 to The Fred Jones Companies, an authorized re-manufacturer of Ford and later on, also GM Parts.

The Lincoln Zephyr V12 was a 75° V12 engine introduced by Ford Motor Company's Lincoln division for the Lincoln-Zephyr in 1932. Originally displacing 267 cubic inches (4.38 L), it was also manufactured in 292 cubic inches (4.79 L) and 306 cubic inches (5.01 L) displacements between 1940 and 1948.
The Lincoln-Zephyr is a line of luxury cars that was produced by the Lincoln division of Ford from 1936 until 1942. Bridging the gap between the Ford V8 DeLuxe and the Lincoln Model K (in both size and price), it expanded Lincoln to a second model line, competing against the Chrysler Airflow, LaSalle, and the Packard One-Twenty.
