The Oti River or Pendjari River (French: Rivière Pendjari) is an international river in West Africa. It rises in Benin , forms the border between Benin and Burkina Faso , flows through Togo , and joins the Volta River in Ghana .
The Pendjari National Park (French: Parc National de la Pendjari) lies in north-western Benin, adjoining the Arli National Park in Burkina Faso.Named for the Pendjari River, the national park is known for its wildlife and is home to some of the last populations of big game like the African forest elephant, lion, hippopotamus, African buffalo, and various antelopes in West Africa.

The border starts at the Togolese tripoint, then proceeds briefly overland in a north-western direction, before reaching the Pendjari River, which it then follows for some distance. [2] An overland section then connects up the Mékrou River , which forms the boundary up the tripoint with Niger.

The park covers 760 km 2 (290 sq mi) with a wide variety of habitats, ranging from the gallery forests of the Arli and Pendjari rivers to savanna woodland and sandstone hills of the Gobnangou chain. It is home to around 200 African elephants , 200 hippos and 100 lions .
