The king of Ayodhya, Dasharatha is forced by his third wife Kaikeyi, on the basis of a boon promised by himself, to exile prince Rama for 14 years, where Rama, along with his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita, departs from Ayodhya and starts a new life in the forests of Panchavati until Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, abducts Sita in order to retaliate Rama for his sister, Shurpanakha's dishonor.

The exile of Rama is an event featured in the Ramayana, [1] [2] [a] and is an important period in the life of Rama. In the epic, Rama is exiled by his father, Dasharatha , under the urging of his step-mother Kaikeyi , accompanied by his wife Sita and half-brother Lakshmana for 14 years. [ 3 ]
Hanuman reaches Ram and tells about Sita being in Ashok Vatika. Ram vows to free Sita from Ravan's captivity and kill him. Ram, Lakshman, and the whole monkey army decide to construct a sea bridge across the ocean to Lanka. Two other monkeys, Nal and Neel, join the monkey army. Ram prays to Lord Shiva before constructing the bridge.
