A royal charter was granted on 30 January 2012, and the Institute of Legal Executives became the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, [4] otherwise known as CILEX.
The CILEX qualification now emphasises and examines the practical work of the law as well as continuing with the necessary academic examinations.
