Rockaway is a borough in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 6,598, [10] [11] an increase of 160 (+2.5%) from the 2010 census count of 6,438, [20] [21] which in turn reflected a decline of 35 (−0.5%) from the 6,473 counted in the 2000 census.

Rockaway Township is a township in Morris County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 25,341, [9] [10] an increase of 1,185 (+4.9%) from the 2010 census count of 24,156, [20] [21] which in turn reflected an increase of 1,226 (+5.3%) from the 22,930 counted in the 2000 census.
White Meadow Lake is in north-central Morris County, in southern Rockaway Township. It is bordered to the south by the borough of Rockaway and to the southeast by Denville Township . It is bordered in all other directions by other areas within Rockaway Township, including Hibernia to the north and Mount Hope to the west.
While Stephen Jackson (1744–1812) may have built it, the house is attributed to his son, Joseph Jackson (1774–1854), a prominent industrialist in Rockaway from 1812 to 1854. He was Postmaster, Morris County Judge and Justice of Peace and a member of the New Jersey Assembly. [4] Dr. George H. Foster purchased the house in 1885.
