Trumbull County is a county in the far northeast portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 201,977. [2] Its county seat and largest city is Warren, which developed industry along the Mahoning River. [3] Trumbull County is part of the Youngstown–Warren, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Newton Township was likely named for Newtown, Connecticut soon after its creation in 1806. [4] It is one of five Newton Townships statewide. [5] Newton Township was formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve.
The river traverses five Ohio counties, [1] Columbiana, Stark, Portage, Trumbull, and Mahoning, as well as Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. The watershed area also includes parts of Ashtabula and Geauga counties in Ohio. The three main tributaries are Mosquito Creek, West Branch, and Eagle Creek, all in Ohio. The Newton Falls Covered Bridge, in Newton Falls, Ohio, was built around 1831. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. [1] It is also known as the Arlington Boulevard Covered Bridge. It spans the east branch of the Mahoning River. It is a three-span truss bridge and has vertical siding. [2]
