CKY-DT (channel 7) is a television station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, part of the CTV Television Network.The station is owned and operated by network parent Bell Media, and maintains studios on Graham Avenue (adjacent to the Canada Life Centre) in Downtown Winnipeg; its transmitter is located near Lord Selkirk Highway/Highway 75 in Ritchot.
LaFlamme began her career at CTV's Kitchener affiliate CKCO in 1989 [6] as a copy writer and script assistant. She moved on to become an anchor in 1997. [7] [8] Past roles include serving as the co-host on Canada AM between 2001 [9] and 2003, [10] as a parliamentary reporter, and on CTV NEWSNET (now CTV News Channel).
CKCO was known for many years for the red jackets worn by news anchors on their newscasts, a practice that began in 1967 with the emergence of colour television and continued until 1989. On August 18, 2012, the Saturday edition of CTV News at Six was expanded to one hour replacing The Beat .
