Linus Benedict Torvalds (/ ˈ l iː n ə s ˈ t ɔːr v ɔː l d z / ⓘ LEE-nəs TOR-vawldz, [3] Finland Swedish: [ˈliːnʉs ˈtuːrvɑlds] ⓘ; born 28 December 1969) is a Finnish software engineer who is the creator and lead developer of the Linux kernel.
It chronicles the history of Unix and how it led to the creation of Linux. The book provides samples of code written in C , and learning exercises at the end of chapters. The author is a former writer for the Linux Weekly News [ 1 ] and the current maintainer for the Linux man pages project.

Debian is one of the oldest operating systems based on the Linux kernel, and is the basis for many other Linux distributions.
