Toyota hasn't been clear on this, but according to JD Power, the 2011 Avalon is considered a fourth generation sedan []. On the other hand, there is a point that the mechanics have been carried over from the last generation. Therefore, I believe the 2011 Avalon should be considered as a facelifted version.
