"Cotton Candy" is a song by English singer-songwriter and musician Yungblud. It was released on 9 October 2020, as the fourth single from his second studio album, Weird! , which came out two months later on 4 December.
The song's music was based on "Fetch Me One More Beer" by the Los Angeles-based punk rock band Fear, written by the band's guitarist Philo Cramer and John Clancy. [7] Bobby and Larson Paine, who were managing the Go-Go's, reworked the song with new lyrics and gave it to them, but after a falling out forbade them from playing it and gave it to Josie Cotton. [2]
Musician Brian Wilson, who had co-written the Beach Boys' "California Girls", commended Perry's vocal on her song and described its melody as "infectious". [ 18 ] Glenn Gamboa of Newsday reviewed the song saying, "'California Gurls' is a fizzy-pop concoction of empty calories, but it sure does stick with you."

Cotton released Movie Disaster Music in 2006, followed by Invasion of the B-Girls, a collection of B-movie theme song covers, also produced in part by Bill Rhea, in 2007. Building on the critical success for these recordings, Cotton released Pussycat Babylon in late 2010.
The pair recruited Texan-born Chris Christian, and in 1975 the trio recorded their first album, Cotton, Lloyd & Christian, issued by 20th Century Records. Their version of the Del Shannon song " I Go to Pieces " - a 1965 hit for Peter and Gordon - became a #66 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and #10 on the Easy Listening chart.
