Faulkner was born on 29 July 1916 in Bexhill-on-Sea, the son of Gus (1893–1976), a professional golfer who had been assistant to James Braid before World War I. [1] [2] After the war his father took a position at Pennard Golf Club on the Gower Peninsula in south Wales where he stayed until 1925.
The council is based at Bexhill Town Hall on London Road in Bexhill, which was built in 1895 for the Bexhill Urban District Council, which became Bexhill Borough Council in 1902. The building continued to serve as the seat of local government following the reorganisation in 1974 which created Rother District.
High Woods is a 33.7-hectare (83-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the northern outskirts of Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex. [1] [2] It is owned by Rother District Council and managed by Highwoods Preservation Society. [3] This site has several different habitats, including the only area of sessile oak coppice in the county.
