The Church of St. Catherine of Siena is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 411 East 68th Street, Manhattan, New York City. The parish was developed from that of St. Vincent Ferrer in 1896. [2] It is staffed by the Dominican Fathers.
In 2018, there were 5,747 Dominican friars, including 4,299 priests. [1] The order is headed by the master of the order who, as of 2022, is Gerard Timoner III. The church was dedicated by Bishop McGuinness on February 25, 1940 and named after Catherine of Siena, the patron saint of Price. In 1947 Father Tevlin, the priest at St. Catherine's, built St. Eugene's Church in Wendell as a daughter parish. In 1948 John Hyland succeeded Tevlin as priest of St. Catherine's and St. Eugene's.

In July 1991, Monsignor Richard J. Shea was installed as the fourth Pastor of Saint Catherine of Siena Parish. Appointed to serve the Parish by then-Bishop Edward M. Egan, Msgr. Shea had served since 1976 as Principal of the nearby St. Joseph High School. Msgr. Shea's 23-year pastorate saw enormous expansion and improvement.
