The festival was established in 1998 and is run by volunteers. It takes place in September over a weekend and has up to 150 businesses taking part, with 99% being local and Welsh retailers. It has up to 7,000 visitors (2017). There is an entrance fee for adults. [1] The festival has food stalls from local and Welsh producers.
In 2007 for the 35th festival about 12,000 people attended. 375 vendors applied for the 275 spaces. [2] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was no live in-person festival in 2020. Officials instead moved events online to a virtual platform. The festival returned to in-person festivities in 2021, though there was a decrease in attendance. [4]
Organizers expect the inaugural Texas festival will attract 30,000 to 60,000 people each of the four days of country, rock, Americana and red-dirt music. About 8,000 camping spaces will be available.
