The Sandhills Global Event Center, known as the Lancaster Event Center until December 2023, is a public nonprofit fairgrounds-style event complex located in Lincoln, Nebraska owned and operated by the Lancaster County Agricultural Society. It was originally built to provide a permanent home for the Lancaster County Fair and other community events.
Fundraising for a dedicated performing arts facility on campus at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (NU) began in the early 1980s under the leadership of University of Nebraska Foundation president Woody Varner. [3] Seventy-one donors contributed to the project, which also received public funding, and Varner's fundraising goal was met in 1986.

The 15,500-seat arena was completed in 2013 and replaced the Bob Devaney Sports Center as the home of Nebraska's men's and women's basketball teams. The arena serves as the primary large-scale entertainment venue in Lincoln and annually hosts Nebraska School Activities Association state basketball tournament games.
