The 1669 CE inscription of Ekoji I at the Kadu Mallikarjuna temple in Malleshwaram has undergone physical conservation efforts. During the construction of the room housing the boulder inscription and subsequent repainting work, careless workmen had allowed cement and paint to splatter onto the stone, obscuring much of the inscription.
