Frinton was once geographically distinct, but housing estates now line the roads between Frinton and Walton-on-the-Naze, Kirby Cross and Kirby-Le-Soken. The town has sandy and stone beach washed daily, more than a mile (1,600 m) long, with wardens in season, and an area of sea zoned for swimming, sailing and windsurfing.
In 1934, the South Coast Investment Company Ltd bought 200 acres (81 ha) of land to the north-east of Frinton, to create the Frinton Park Estate. It would include 1100 houses, a town hall, college, churches, a shopping complex, and a hotel. The architect Oliver Hill was chosen to oversee the overall layout.
Don’t miss: A fishing pier at the southern tip of the park that extends 950 feet into Fripp Inlet. The single cabin left on the island. It’s near the lighthouse and can be reserved for a stay.
The parish council was created to replace Frinton and Walton Urban District Council at the same time. The previously separate parishes of Frinton, Great Holland, Kirby le Soken and Walton le Soken had been combined in 1934 as part of a Local Government Act 1929 review to form a new parish and urban district of Frinton and Walton.

Hunting Island is a 5,000-acre (20 km 2) secluded semitropical barrier island located 15 miles (24 km) east of Beaufort, South Carolina, United States in between Harbor Island and Fripp Island. Since 1935, it has been classified as a state park .
