This list of photography awards is an index to articles that describe notable awards given for photography. It does not include photojournalism , which is covered in the list of journalism awards . The list is organized by the region and country of the organization that gives the award, but some awards are open to international competitors.
It evolved from the Estonian Science Photo Competition. The first global competition took place in 2017 [5] and is held every two years, [6] occurring for most countries around November or December. [7] [8] It has been called one of the most important photo competitions in the world. [9] The main organizer of the competition is Ivo Kruusamägi.
The Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest released its finalists for its People's Choice Award. The winner of the contest, hosted by London's Natural History Museum, will be announced in February.
